Sustainability & Giving Back
Lodging committed to sustainability
GREEN PRODUCTS, RECYCLING, ENERGY EFFICIENCY, AND SUSTAINABILITY
At the Historic Log Cabin Motel in Pinedale, WYOMING, we are committed to operating a truly sustainable and green Lodging property. We are members of the GREEN HOTEL ASSCOCIATION. We use plant-based cleaning products, have purchased organic cotton and wool blankets, added eclectic furniture pieces from Dude Ranches around Jackson Hole, recycle during the snow-free months, have installed water-wise shower heads and green light bulbs in all cabins. For many years, we consulted commercial and government organizations in "Greening the Cleaning" as well as writing two award winning peer reviewed EPA reports on this subject.
Every Summer season, we donate $.50 per occupied cabin to a non-profit that supports our green, sustainable and human potential values. In 2016, we donated to the Green River Land Trust; in 2015 we supported "This Sacred Space" prison project by K. Johnson, in 2017 we supported MESA, a therapeutic horsemanship service to individuals with disabilities in Sublette County. In 2018 we are supporting a local non-profit: Mainstreet Pinedale. Mainstreet Pinedale is committed to enhancing the downtown area by granting maintenance and facade grants. We received grants for the Re-furbishing of the Gannett Peak Lodge, and architectural Foundation Grant for the Historic Log cabin Motel, and have submitted a Maintenance Grant Request for the Old timer Cabin 23 from 1905.
